Located in the heart of the nation’s growing wind industry, Kansas offers an ideal location for wind turbine manufacturing as well as for the various sales and support services required of large wind farms and small- and community-wind installations. Our central location and well-developed transportation infrastructure provide convenient and economical access to the region with the greatest wind energy activity. Since the beginning of 2008, wind generating capacity in Kansas has nearly tripled to more than 1,000 megawatts, making Kansas one of the top 10 states in the nation. There is plenty of room to add more, with Kansas ranking third in wind energy potential.
