Wind Turbine Components
A utility-scale wind turbine contains approximately 8,000 different components and requires both manufacturers and service industry firms in the supply chain. Utility-scale or large-wind is defined as over 660 kW in size while mid-wind is between 10 kW and 660 kW and small-wind is less than 10 kW in size.

Manufacturer Capabilities
Large wind tends to require the most advanced capabilities from its supply chain. Below is a list of the capabilities usually required for large-wind supply chain manufacturers. Often times the capabilities required of a supplier for mid- and small-wind can be less demanding.
